Day 10 – D.C.

We made it……

This Dan Gilman, his son Curt and daughter Sydney. Dan stepped in last minute to fill my 2nd tail gunner position in Platoon 5. Dan’s brother Jed tail gunned for Platoon 3 when I was APL (Assistant Platoon Leader) in 2016. Jed was on the Ambassador team this year and did a great job. Dan did an outstanding job this year and when performing an additional tail gunner duty out of the pack, his son Curt stepped in and like a chip off the old block did a great job also. Dan’s daughter Sydney rode on her dad’s bike for part of the run. What great family. It an honor to call them friends. Dan’s wife also met up with us in DC.  Thanks for getting the family involved Dan.

With all the celebrating and wrap up details, this old man didn’t take any pics. I’ll round some up from friends to post.  In the meantime, please accept my apology.

More to come,

Bruce

  1. Because we could not go “all the way” I have REALLY appreciated & enjoyed your blogs!!! Ride safe on your way home! Does many of the riders ride together on their journey home? If you will be coming back thru Holbrook please let us know if you need a bite to eat or a place to stay the night!!!
